March’s SEL word of the month is resilience, and during their monthly assembly, the students at Hagan Elementary learned about what that means and how they can practice that in their lives. School social worker Kerri Klein likes to incorporate the month’s SEL word into the assembly in a way that the young students can understand. After watching a short video book called “Bounce Back” by Cheri J. Meiners, a story about a girl who learns how to be resilient when she learns her friend is moving away, a select group of students shared with the school way they could be resilient, including thinking of good memories, and doing things that make you happy.
Next month’s SEL word of the month is integrity.
